After the Hillingdon crash I had a few months off the bike. I went training in December and begining of January in France.
I went back at Hillindgon and get my racing speed back. My 1st race back I finish 14 th in the leading group. I was pleased with that but I could not do much work in the front. I will do the early Surrey League races and the North Road Hardriders
A good day with about 60 riders turn up at the 1st race at the winter series with the same riders as the previous year. I tried severals breaks but all with no sucess. I manage to go in 2 different break and a duo with David Baker but the head wind in the back straight was killing us.So it was going to be a big massive sprint.
And then about 200 meter big crash: I saw the guy in the front on me falling and I was the next one to be on the grown with 5 more guys behing. My head hit the floor frist and I manage to get 4-5 cuts in my face with nothing broken. The ambulance arrived quickly (thanks to the orgonazer for that) and they check me out at the Hillingdon Hospital.
So from now I need to recover and will take 2-3 days off work as it will not be pleasant for the customer to see me like that. Anyway I will be back at Hillingdon Winter races ONLY if they put the 3rd category riders in a different race. Maybe there should race with the 4th category riders at 1.30pm
I had a few problems with my Scott bike again, it's the second time that is happenning. The little silver plate on the frame next to the bottom braket come out during a race so I had to stop. We contacted UK Scott and sent the bike over and they offered me the SL straight away or the Team Issue in 2 months. I went for the SL 2006. I'm looking foward for the winter series again and riding for Mosquito-Bikes.
